Recently, when reflecting on cheerful moments, I was reminded of our Emigration Trail Project that was featured in Veranda last August. This home we designed was all about celebrating light and flow, while injecting it with color and embracing family living throughout all of the seasons in Utah. Thankfully, this goal was easy to execute working with Jon Jang AIA who created a beautiful architectural foundation for the interiors. The breakfast room in particular brings the outdoors in, with its large windows where hydrangeas hold court, and a view of the gardens and patio that please the senses. The textiles on the banquette are classic but happy — not to distract from the lush view outdoors, framed by draperies in a Schumacher check.
I loved arranging this table for the shoot — it incorporates some of my favorites linens from Julia B and Faience Tableware from ZDG by Zoe de Givenchy, all grounded underneath with an Elizabeth Eakins rug. If this space doesn't get one energized for spring, I'm not sure what will!
