In this upper garden bedroom, it's hard not to get a dose of "happy" with its sorbet hues, natural textures and striking view of lush palms. This is one of many bedrooms within a recently installed Kauai, Hawaii residence for a dear family (a home that sleeps 18 people!). I find this room particularly sweet, as we look forward to Valentines Day. We let the landscape of this tropical archipelago truly take center stage, and since the home finishes were very limited and even somewhat bland — we wanted to hint at location without being too overt. The warm tones, stripes and floral motifs, while juxtaposed with the cool colors of the outdoors, do just that!
